When I found out I was pregnant with my third baby, I knew I wanted to do his newborn pictures, something that I didn’t do with the other two babies. Since the other two were born, I’ve taken a variety of classes to hone my skills with posed newborn photography. I was so excited about the possibilities. I had so many ideas!
The greatest thing about having your own baby to photograph is that time is in your favor. I photographed the little guy over the course of several days, whenever he was good and sleepy and I was energetic enough to do it. Photographing newborns is a workout, and not something I’d recommend doing postpartum. (Luckily, I had a really quick, easy birth with him so recovery was quicker this time through.)
Because I had lots of time to work with him, I had the opportunity to try different newborn poses, close up macro shots, as well as some less posed lifestyle images. Of course, I love them all and had such a hard time narrowing down images for this post. But I think I’m really in love with the black and white image of my husband holding him. And the second photo is special because Grandma made the blanket that he is laying on. I’m so happy I have this collections of newborn pictures of my little Matthew. Now to design an album!
Thanks for checking them out and oohing over my little guy. 🙂
