On their wedding day, Renee and Michael’s marriage was already put to the test. Without recounting the ordeal, let’s just say that they encountered some “mishaps” during the reception. Now they have some vivid memories of their day and a story to tell. And in the words of the bride, at least they learned how much their families love them.
The day began with a beautiful ceremony at the Bedford Community Church. The couple incorporated Michael’s son into the ceremony, exchanged vows that they wrote themselves, and recessed out to the song “Love and Marriage.” Before we headed off to the reception, the Renee and Michael spent some quiet time together, while I photographed portraits for them. (It is nice to take a step back after the wedding and before the party to have some time alone as a couple.)
The reception was held on a friend’s property, with the cocktail hour by the pool and dinner and dancing under a tent. Despite the problems at the reception, the party still went on. First, the couple played a newlywed game, in which they were asked questions and had to hold up a shoe to give an answer. And finally the guests got the party started with the band, as Renee’s Jamaican family led the dancing with Mike’s Italian family joining in.
Here is just a small glimpse into the day. At the bottom of the blog, show this couple some love. If they get 20 comments or shares, they’ll get a special gift from me!
