Makeda and Rondell are from New York City, and they traveled up to Dutchess County to celebrate their wedding in the country. Even though I’ve lived up here about 10 years now, I’m still amazed at how beautiful our area is, so I completely understand the allure of celebrating their big day up north. The couple chose Le Chambord Inn in Hopewell Junction, which is situated in a wooded landscape, so we were able to create some lovely portraits of the couple and their family in this setting.
This couple has been together for many years now. Everyone involved in this wedding was really excited for the couple and the energy was enthusiastic. I couldn’t help but smile through most of the day. It was a true celebration.
Have you ever been to a wedding that was sort of boring, where no one danced and you were itching to get out of there? Yeah, me too. But this wedding was NOT one of those. I was warned ahead of time that their families would be partying and Rondell’s firefighter friends might be rowdy. In actuality, the party was high energy and so much fun. I wished I could’ve put my camera down to join them (but I guess that would’ve been unprofessional).
But besides the great party, the biggest thing I took away from the day, and that I hope shows through the following photos, is that Makeda and Rondell are true best friends who have fallen in love. As I documented their day, I saw over and over again how much they truly enjoy each other’s company.
Makeda and Rondell: My hope and prayer for you is that you continue to enjoy each other and fall more in love with each passing year, because as parents of a young boy you are a great example and witness of dedicated love. And who could ask for more than that from a marriage. Congratulations!!
